Norcini, OD.
Dr. Donald J. Norcini, founder of Insight Eyecare, attended both The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Houston, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977. He received his Doctorate with honors from The University of Houston College of Optometry in 1981. While at the University, he completed internships at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs and Riverside Health Clinic in Houston. He is past president of The Student Texas Optometric Association, served as a liaison between his class and the administration, and was the lone student representative for the College’s Admission Department. He was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key International upon graduation from The College of Optometry.
Dr. Norcini has been in private practice since 1981, where he counts many of his patients now as being third and even fourth generation patients. He practices all levels of Optometry currently licensed by the State of Texas, which includes general vision exams, contact lenses, including specialty contact lens fits, pediatric vision, and all eye diseases, both external and internal that do not require surgery. He is also certified to treat glaucoma. As a founding board member of TLC Laser Eye Center of Texas in Houston, he has years of experience in the co-management of laser eye corrections. Supervising clinicians at Riverside Health Center and working at The Eye Center of Texas helped increase his skills in treating medical conditions of the eye. Cataract co-management is one of the activities that he especially enjoys with his patients.
Dr. Norcini is a member of both the Texas and American Optometric Association, and enjoys enhancing his skills by attending numerous educational seminars to keep himself and his staff up to date. He is married with two adult children, two grandchildren, two Yorkies and two rescue dogs. He enjoys all types of outdoor activities, especially golf, gardening and photography.
